Foster's CFO wins award

Melbourne, 19 February 2001

Foster's Brewing Group Chief Financial Officer, Mr Trevor O'Hoy, was awarded the prestigious CFO of the year award at the Insto Distinction Awards 2000 in Sydney on Friday night.

The Insto Distinction Awards are convened by Insto Magazine - Australia's leading financial and capital markets magazine. Nominees for the award were put forward by debt and equity investors and investment banks across Australia. Mr O'Hoy was nominated by all three classes of investors and received the largest number of nominations to win the award.

On receiving the award, Mr O'Hoy said he was honoured to be recognised by the investment community in this way and thanked the team at Foster's, whom he said were the real winners of the award.

"Foster's began the 2000 financial year with around $2.6 billion in shareholder funds and raised more than $3 billion for the year, including $1.4 billion to fund the acquisition of Beringer Wine Estates, representing one of the largest single placements in a 24-hour period in Australia's corporate history. There were many people at Foster's involved in making this happen and I am very proud to have the opportunity to work with such a great team."

Mr O'Hoy joined Foster's as a cadet executive in 1976 and worked in a number of key positions within the group's beer division, Carlton and United, before talking on the role of CFO in1997.
