
More medals to Foster's Sports Foundation athletes following the success of Justin Norris in the final of the Men's 200m Butterfly at the Aquatic Centre last night.
The 19 year old won Bronze taking the medal tally for Foster's Sports Foundation athletes to one Gold and two Bronze. Justin is one of 183 Australian athletes selected for the Games who are original recipients of the Foster's Sports Foundation grants.
Vice President Olympics, Alan Kemp, praised the efforts of all Australian athletes and congratulated the Foster's Sports Foundation grant athletes who have won medals at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Established in 1997 the Foster's Sports Foundation has provided $2.275 million toward recognising and promoting excellence in Olympic sport across Australia.
The Foundation specifically targeted up and coming athletes with grants being given to a total of 338 individual recipients.
In the first wave of grants, $1,175,000 was provided to aspiring Olympic athletes.
