Foster's announces structure for the future

Melbourne, 10 March 2000

As the Company enters the new millennium, with the restructuring years a part of history and with a clear vision of the businesses and business practices that will deliver future growth and shareholder value, it is appropriate to realign the divisional structures to deliver the desired strategic outcomes.

The new structure is designed to allow the divisional MD's to focus more completely on the market outcomes which deliver the financial goals, while at the same time forming a core central group to deliver the full service provider strategic concept. Within this structure management responsibilities will also change.

Nuno D'Aquino, currently Senior Vice President, Foster's Brewing Group (FBG) and Managing Director, Carlton and United Breweries (CUB), is appointed to the new position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer FBG, with responsibility for the concept and execution to enable FBG to become an integrated Full Service Provider organisation.

Externally, through CUB and Mildara Blass Limited, this full service concept will be reflected in the product breadth, efficiencies and services provided to our customers, and internally, with significantly more efficient shared services provided to the Group's divisions.

In addition, and integral to the full service concept, Nuno will be responsible for the delivery of e-business projects currently being undertaken and for the identification and introduction of new e-business opportunities for the Company.

A group concept team, chaired by Nuno with all divisional MD's and the CFO, will be formed with shared KPO's to deliver the full service provider organisation.

Jim King, currently Managing Director Foster's Asia, is appointed Managing Director CUB, with responsibility for the Australian Beer Business, and also for Australian Leisure and Hospitality (ALH) and Continental Spirits as related businesses.

Trevor O'Hoy, currently Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for FBG, assumes a significantly expanded role as CFO and Senior Vice President Total Service FBG, with responsibilities for group taxation, group finance, treasury, shared services, human resources, e-business, group logistics, group strategy and investor relations.

With regard to the total service responsibilities, Trevor will report directly to Nuno D'Aquino.

Rick Scully, currently Senior Vice President Foster's International, is appointed Managing Director Foster's International Beer Businesses, with continuing responsibility for Foster's International, the Foster's global brand equity, and with the added responsibility for Foster's Asia and Foster's Pacific, including Fiji, New Zealand and Samoa.

Graeme Willersdorf will continue as Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs, and will assume wider responsibilities to include all public affairs across the organisation, with the goal of providing efficient Group-wide co-ordinated communications services. Where appropriate, divisional-based public affairs operatives will be assigned.

Peter Bobeff will continue as Senior Vice President Commercial Affairs and will, in addition to his current role, assume responsibility for the area of health, safety and environmental systems.

Terry Davis, Managing Director Mildara Blass Limited, and John O'Grady, Managing Director Lensworth Group, will continue in their current roles.

These changes will be effective from Tuesday 28 March 2000.
