Standard Drinks
CUB believes that all consumers should be provided with balanced and accurate information so that individual consumers can make decisions about their own alcohol consumption.
One of the most important pieces of information that we can provide consumers, is about the alcohol content and number of standard drinks in each product.
An awareness of standard drinks and alcohol content helps consumers to monitor and moderate their consumption levels.
All of CUB product labels carry a logo like the one picture below that provides simple and accurate advice to consumers:

The National Health and Medical Research Council has developed guidelines to assist consumers to minimise potential harmful consequences of alcohol consumption. It is important to note that these Guidelines are designed to provide information to minimise risks, they do prescribe the minimum or maximum number of drinks a person should consume.
For further information about the Guidelines, consumers are encouraged to visit: http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/guidelines/publications/ds10
It is important to remember that there are a number of factors that influence the risks associated with alcohol consumption including the rate of drinking, the environment, what the person is going during or after drinking, and whether they have eaten.
