In 1984, Matilda Bay Brewing company was formed in Fremantle, Western Australia by a group of passionate men who got together at the famous Sail and Anchor Hotel.
The first release was two craft beers and through the 1990s Matilda Bay kept experimenting and expanding the portfolio.
The Matilda Bay Garage Brewery, "The Garage", was opened in 2005 in Dandenong, Victoria. The new facility allowed the team to explore and develop new beers.
With dedication to the craft of brewing and the respect of history and tradition, the Matilda Bay range has become very popular within the niche craft beer market.
Fat Yak Pale Ale is a favourite with Australian and international drinkers. It has been created with natural ingredients, including premium malts, American Cascade hops and a hint of New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops.
