Founded in 1835 by John Tooth and John Newnham, Tooth and Co. was one of the original brewers in New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Named after the birthplace of John Tooth, Sydney-based Kent Brewery was one of the major breweries in NSW well into the 20th century.
In 1983, the Kent Brewery was sold to Carlton and United Breweries (CUB) and was used for brewing other CUB brand favourites.
Named after the Kent Brewery, KB Lager, in its distinctive gold can, is made from selected malt and Pride of Ringwood hops. Brewed to be sweeter and less bitter, the aroma combines a fruity character with a floral hoppy note.
Although many products were created and brewed at the Kent Brewery, only a few of the original products still exist today.
